Dr. Pete Plescia

DVM

Dr. Pete Plescia joined the clinic in 2012. Pete earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 from the University of Illinois. Pete and his wife (Dr. Christen) purchased the practice from Dr. Tom Liebetrau in the fall of 2013. Pete has experience with a broad range of veterinary services including emergency medicine, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery. Pete was raised in the Midwest, but came to Animal Medical Center from Oregon, where he practiced at a mixed practice clinic for 5 years. Pete lives in Galesburg with his wife Christen and their family. Outside of work he enjoys running, biking, gardening, and fishing, as well as spending time with his family.

Dr. Christen Plescia

DVM

Dr. Christen Plescia is a 2008 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She joined our team in September 2013. Her areas of special interest include cancer diagnosis and treatment, pain management, and internal medicine. Prior to Animal Medical Center, Christen worked at a small animal practice in Cottage Grove, OR. Currently she splits her time between practicing at Animal Medical Center and staying home with the family’s young children. Her interests outside of work include hiking, kayaking, reading, and outings with the kids.

Dr. Cassandra Murdock

DVM

Dr. Cassandra Murdock joined the practice in May 2014. Dr. Murdock is a native to the Galesburg area. She graduated from the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Prior to coming to our practice, she worked at a small animal clinic in Peoria for two years. Her commitment to family and community encouraged her to return to Galesburg. Cassandra has special interests in preventative medicine and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys getting outdoors and spending time with her husband Jarod and their children. They share their home with their Australian shepherd “Dally” and cat “Gus.

Dr. Christine Baysingar

DVM

Dr. Christine Baysingar joined our practice in January 2016. Dr. Baysingar is a native of Galesburg and attended Galesburg High Sr. High, and Monmouth College before attending veterinary school at the University of Minnesota. After practicing in Minnesota and Wisconsin for 7 years, she practiced in Utah for 15 years and has returned to Galesburg to be back close to family and old friends. She has experience in large and small animal medicine, including emergency and fur-bearing exotic animal medicine with a special interest in emergency and exotic animal medicine, senior pet care and behavior issues. She shares her home with a variety of pets including several dogs, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters and a canary!

Jolene Eiker

Office Manager

Jolene Eiker joined the practice in May of 2016, as our office manager after retiring from teaching Pre-School. Jolene and her husband Dan have three children and four grandchildren. They share their home with their Cocker Spaniels. Jolene designs and sells jewelry, as well as teaches different jewelry making techniques. Jolene loves to travel and spend time with her family.

Stephanie Simonson

Veterinary Technician

Steph earned a Bachelors in Animal Science from Western Illinois University and resides in Knoxville. She stays very busy serving as one of our full time veterinary technicians. Stephanie has experience raising and handling dogs, cats, poultry, and horses. She enjoys spending time in the outdoors gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Amanda Correll

Technician/Receptionist

Amanda has been with Animal Medical Center since 2013, working as a receptionist and technician. She has several years of animal experience working in the veterinary field since her senior year of high school, and growing up on a beef farm. In her free time Amanda enjoys baking, sewing, and spending time outside with her family and their crazy lab Lucy.

Angie Widolff

Receptionist

Angie Widolff joined our practice as a receptionist in October of 2018. She has previous experience working for a veterinary clinic in Wisconsin for six years. She grew up locally, but after attending Monmouth College and then getting married to Pete Widolff, they have spent the last thirty years living in many different parts of the U.S. She has lived in Galesburg for seven years. Angie and Pete have two children and have had many wonderful pets over the years. They now have a spoiled Yorkie named Lottie that they adopted in November of 2018. In her spare time, Angie enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading and spending time outdoors.

Jenipher Swanson

Jenipher comes to us with over 12 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Jenipher is a born and raised Knox County resident and a graduate from ROWVA High School. In her free time Jenipher enjoys camping, spending time with her family, photography, quilting, and riding her horse, Lexi.

Marie Johnson

Marie Johnson joined our practice in May of 2019, she lives in Galesburg with her husband, Troy and daughter, Tori and a minature dachshund, Sadie. Maries likes flower gardening, photography, and going to the gym.

Rhonda Kreps

Kennel Tech

Rhonda has been with AMC since 2007. She has a life time of experience with animals, including swine. She breeds and raises German Shepherds.

Bill Price

Kennel Tech

Bill Price joined our staff, as a kennel tech, in June of 2018, after retiring from Frito-Lay. Bill also worked at the Eagle foods before it closed. Bill loves cats and tinkering with model cars.

Jeff Anderson

Jeff joined Animal Medical Center in January of 2020 after retiring from teaching for 35 years. Jeff shares his home with Scooter a ten-year-old basset/beagle mix. Jeff enjoys the outdoors, working in the yard and spending time with family and friends.
